Learning Information Center

Learning Information Center is our unique program which provides opportunity for adults and children to learn more about schooling, education, village information, library and opportunity for skill development.This center is function from 09am – 11am and 03pm – 7pm on regular days. Newspapers, periodicals and books were available in the center in which men, women and children used it. The center provides vocational training for young girls on tailoring and embroidery. For the purpose ACDS is levy minimum charges of Rs.100/- per month. The boys and girls were involved in typewriting and computer skills.The boys and girls were taught about Tamil and English and they were preparing for technical education. In computer the children and adults were provided opportunity for skills in word processing, photo painting and other Microsoft Office environment.

In the evening children were provided space for sharing their school and home experiences including indoor and outdoor games. They were also provided opportunity to learn school education activities. This has full of information about the village and panchayat and important office telephone numbers and website ids.The LIC provided application forms for all government schemes and programs at its production cost. Further more ACDS is also providing liaison support to poor applicant through filling of forms and follow-up to government offices to get it done with out any bribes. In addition to these 12-18 years old children were provided education on child rights and protection aspects. Because of this education process ACDS was promoted Children Panchayats in many of the villages to implement child rights and protect the children from all sorts of violence and abuses. The Learning Information Center is being appreciated by the local communities and community based organizations.
